How it all started...
Our Story is really a story of God's faithfulness...
In 1961, 32 men and women saw the need for a faithful witness for Christ in the context of the rich heritage of Baptist Theology. Those 32 original members would go on in just a few decades to number close to 175 members. God was faithful and blessed the ministry of Faith Baptist Church. Souls were saved and lives and eternities were shaped by Jesus and the preaching of His Word.
As is the case with many churches today, there came a span of lean years where attendance declined and as a consequence so did the ministries and influence of this church family.
Since 2009 our church has seen tremendous growth in the lives of our members and in the numbers of families we touch each week. We have once again seen God working through this family of believers to impact eternity. We continue to see God draw people to Himself and save them from His wrath and free them from their sin. We have begun new children's ministries, small group studies, and young mothers Bible studies. We have sent several of our church family on short term missions trips to Spain; El Salvador; Salt Lake City, UT; Gallup, NM; Indonesia; and Urubamba, Peru. We have also begun supporting new missionaries working with Native Americans, Mormons, Peruvians, Filipinos, as well as supporting church planters, church builders, Bible translators, and Evangelists in North and South America, Australia, Europe, and Asia.
God is faithful and we long to be used up for Him.

How Else is God Faithful?
1 John 1:9 says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." The 'he' in that verse is God. Scripture tells us that God is faithful, meaning he keeps his promises and he is just, meaning he always does what is right. The exercise of God's just faithfulness in this verse is seen in the life of the one who confesses their sins, repentance - forsaking our sin and turning from it towards Jesus.
Were it not for Jesus, our faithful and just God would not cleanse us from all our unrighteousness. In fact, scripture tells us that if we remain in sin we are the object of God's wrath (Ephesians 2:3-5) not the object of His forgiveness.
But, "I'm not a sinner" you might say. 1 John 1:10 shows us we are, "If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us", for all of us are sinners.
The truth of our condition without repentant faith in Jesus is very bleak, so, here's the Good News; "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
One of the greatest questions in all of scripture is recorded in Acts 16:30, "What must I do to be saved?" and the answer given was, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved."
Friend, I invite you to repent of your sin and believe in Jesus Christ today and He will forgive of all your sin, save you from the wrath of God, and give you the promise of eternal life in Heaven with God our Creator, Sustainer, Savior, and Friend.

There is a place for you...
We would love to see God work to bring you and your family into the fellowship of His family here at Faith Baptist Church.
Where we are headed...
We look forward to the exciting doors that God continues to open to minister to individuals and families in the Arkansas Valley. We have families driving to church from LaJunta and Pueblo and everywhere in between. In a rural area you get used to driving as far as you have to in order to get what you need. No distance is too far to find sound biblical teaching and edifying fellowship in the family of God.
